Last days, listening at the weather forecast giving snow blizzards and Antarctic temperatures, one hesitates between doing something ‘brave and determined’ versus being ‘stupid and silly’. The pitfall of thinking!
Too many thoughts lead to doubt. When we feel no doubt, then this is a sure sign we follow our passion.
Hence I took the train when it was still dark this morning, and travelled through the most beautiful snow covered flatland, West Vlaanderen (le plat pays qui est le mien) , the region where I was born. When returning from the hinterland, it’s always with a sigh of relief I see the narrow strip of land and the huge sky above it. Now it even seems to be the only right landscape; flat as a pancake. It must be something common in people from the sea.
A brave soul waited for me at the station and walked with me the path to Blankenberge, wind in the back. Under the dark grey sky the sea was evil colored and gave a spectacular scenery.
After a warm apple-pie with cream and coffee when we arrived, I warmed up in a cozy hotel and opened the computer…. Actually the combination between walking and working is just fine.
